Hi, I’m Adam. I write fiction for children and work as a storyteller. I visit lots of schools, running writing workshops and training teachers. Visit my blog

The Beatles were playing on the radio when Adam was born in Leicester. This musical prodigy ended up studying performing arts and forming a band, before moving on to sports journalism and primary school teaching. He ended up training teachers on the Tanzanian island of Zanzibar…

And that’s where he met Charlotte! She says she doesn’t come from anywhere because she moved around a lot when she was growing up. She always wanted to be a writer and worked as a bookseller before training to teach English as a Foreign Language. This took her to the Czech Republic and  Ukraine, before she headed to Zanzibar to teach English to student nurses and met Adam. After their Zanzibari adventure, Adam and Charlotte moved to Oxford where Charlotte started working in publishing and Adam became writer-in-residence at the Roald Dahl Museum before hooking up with the Story Museum in Oxford.

And now we both write! Sometimes together, sometimes on our own. We were delighted that Spaghetti with the Yeti, illustrated by award-winning Lee Wildish, was shortlisted for the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, Oscar’s First Book Prize and the Sheffield Book Awards.  Treats for a T.Rex also picked up a GOLD Practical Pre-School Award!

So far this year School Gremlins has published, (click here for cheeky trailer) –it’s a collaboration with the brilliant Chris Chatterton. If you want to learn how to draw a gremlin, Chris will be happy to show you here: How to Draw a Gremlin

Our latest George book with Lee Wildish, Muffins for Mummies, came out in June, along with a re-jacketing of the whole George series!

We’re also so lucky to have worked with the amazingly witty Ada Grey. Here’s our collaboration School for Dads. We are all very proud of this one. We have another title with Ada planned for 2018. Can’t wait!
